Have you ever travelled across the world, relying on nothing more than the intimacy of human connections?
A hitchhike of 50,000 km – crossing the ocean by ship, and having a baby in Mexico. FAR. THE STORY OF A JOURNEY AROUND THE WORLD is a colourful, authentic film that follows the extraordinary journey of a young couple who travel to the east and return to the west three and a half years later with a new, third family member. With a small budget and without taking any planes, they explore the world with natural curiosity and buoyant spontaneity.
FAR adds a much-needed dash of humanity to your typical travel film. After showing at festivals around the world (including LOLA @ Berlinale), being called Germany’s Most Successful Cinema Documentary of 2017/2018, bringing in over 500,000 admissions and generating €3.5 million at the box office, this refreshing film is having its Toronto theatrical premiere April 12.
