Carousel Pictures presents

Launches February 27 on iTunes and YouTube

Carousel Pictures is proud to present Firecracker Department with Naomi Snieckus, a podcast with wine, women and outrageous observations. Firecracker Department – hosted by the multi-talented and vivacious Naomi Snieckus – is a sit-down (with scattered bouts of standing), with the brightest minds and most charismatic women in entertainment.

Naomi’s guests represent the full spectrum of ‘the biz’ – actresses, writers, directors and behind-the-scenes executive power players. But despite their showbiz superpowers, none can resist the targeted charm of their host, or the tongue-loosening powers of her stash of fine, fermented grape.

With each interview, Naomi and her guest kick off their shoes and pour a glass of wine. Recorded out of Naomi’s home, the conversations are informal, real and often intensely-personal. It’s funny, frank talk about success, life in the public eye, the victories, embarrassments and vagaries of fame.

“I am so inspired by my talks with these firecracker women!,” says an exuberant Naomi, “their stories, their passion, their words of advice – it’s electric. At the end of each recording I am so charged I could write a book, shoot a movie or just run out and hug the closest woman and yell “WE CAN DO ANYTHING!!! I know people will not only be inspired but learn something about the women in our industry.”

In early episodes, Zoie Palmer talks about being in the cross-hairs of a genre cult hit on Lost Girl. And Annie Murphy chats about the phone call she got from Dan Levy, in which he playfully let her know about her casting on Schitts Creek.

“Naomi is both brilliant and hilarious,” says Carousel Pictures Producer Tyler Levine. “It’s an honour to facilitate her and some of the brightest women in our business.”

Interviews have been completed with Jayne Eastwood, Annie Murphy, Bette Macdonald, Debra McGrath, Diane Flacks, Grace Kung, Jennifer Robertson, Jessie Gabe, Mackenzie Donaldson, Tommie Amber Pirie and Zoie Palmer

Host and Co-Creator is Naomi Snieckus, with producer and co-creator, Tyler Levine of Carousel Pictures. Co-Producer is Katelyn Cursio (Carousel Pictures). Produced in Association with Grayson Matthews.

The podcast will launch on Monday February 27 on iTunes and will also be on youtube.
