Recognized and well respected from around the world, Executive Producer Marina Cordoni launches her new company, Marina Cordoni Entertainment, and with it, her first partnership deal, with Breaking Glass Pictures in the U.S.

Marina Cordoni Entertainment (MCE)  http://www.marinacordoni.com/  provides a focused and dedicated approach to various stages of feature film production, from creative development, to financial pre-production negotiations and competed sales, to marketing and domestic release strategies.   As Executive Producer, Cordoni will work alongside established filmmakers in developing, marketing and financing feature films, readying them to green light status. As a Sales Agent, Cordoni will initiate, oversee and close deals on rights sales for completed feature films in domestic and international markets. And with Domestic Distribution Cordoni provides tailored assistance and theatrical placement of feature films in the Canadian market.

MCE has signed its first partnership with Breaking Glass Pictures out of the U.S., where Cordoni will be representingBreaking Glass available features for Canada, and bringing them Canadian films to acquire for US rights.

The first deal with MCE and Breaking Glass is the movie Blackbird, written and directed by Nova Scotia filmmaker Jason Buxton and stars Connor Jessup.  Blackbird made its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival 2012 where it tied for TIFF’s Best Canadian First Feature prize, and subsequently won awards at the Vancouver International Film Festival and the Atlantic Film Festival, as Best Canadian Feature. The film and Buxton were also honoured with Canada’s Claude Jutra Award. Internationally, the movie won the prestigious Cannes Junior Prize during the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. Blackbird was  made possible with the financial participation of Telefilm Canada, and Breaking Glass will take all rights for the film.

“After seeing Blackbird at TIFF a few years ago, we knew immediately we wanted to represent the film in the US,” says Breaking Glass Pictures’ Co-Founder Richard Wolf, “and it was worth the wait.  Working with Ms. Cordoni’s magnitude of expertise and talents makes this process a pleasure,” adds Wolf, “and we certainly look forward to many more film releases with MCE.”
