Following its world premiere at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival and a successful Canadian theatrical run, Honeymoon, a film by Leigh Janiak, will be available on DVD and Blu-ray on January 13, 2015, from Video Services Corp (VSC). The DVD suggested retail price is $26.98 and Blu-ray is $29.98.
Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey) and Harry Treadaway (Attack the Block, Penny Dreadful) give captivating leading performances as a couple that takes new love to disturbing depths, with chemistry that belies the fact that they hadn’t met prior to being cast. As romance slowly gives way to terror, writer/director Leigh Janiak puts her unique stamp on this intimate, chilling thriller – her directing debut – set in Canada’s cottage country.
“Honeymoon is a transformation tale. It tells the story of newlyweds Paul and Bea and how something beautiful can become monstrous,” Janiak explains. “[It] is an exploration of how the familiar can become alien. When you’re walking home from the theatre with a friend, when you climb into bed next to your partner, hopefully there’s a nagging: Who is this person next to me?”
Bonus features include an interview with Leslie and Treadaway, interview with Janiak, the worm behind the scenes, canoe behind the scenes, a look at Honeymoon and festival and theatrical trailers.
