Join the Reel Indie Film Festival (RiFF) in kicking off its second year with the Canadian premiere of Greg Olliver’s Johnny Winter: Down & Dirty, screening October 14 at Toronto’s historic cinema, The Royal.
Featuring interviews with Joe Perry (Aerosmith) and Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) amongst others, JOHNNY WINTER Down & Dirty is an intimate study of the legendary blues guitarist, from his early beginnings in Texas to his last days on the road. With rare archival photos and footage, this film is a must-see for all music fans.
“Johnny was an influence on so many artists,” says Darryl Hurs, founder of RiFF. “And Down & Dirty is such a wonderful testament to him and his talent – we are proud to be able to pay tribute to him on our opening night.”
Close friend and manager of Johnny Winter, guitarist Paul Nelson, will be in attendance for the screening with a special Q & A to follow.
