Sara
written & directed by Jessica Hinkson 
sets a Global Distribution Deal with 7 Palms
and Sells to CBC/Gem 

C’mon Mort Productions and Hello, Darling Pictures are thrilled to announce that their critically acclaimed short film Sara has been sold to 7 Palms for global broadcast and streaming distribution, excluding Canada.

And in Canada, the CBC has acquired the film for their popular program Canadian Reflections, set to broadcast November 1, with streaming beginning the same day on Gem.

Written and directed by Jessica Hinkson, the dramatic short film tells the story of a woman who finds the strength to confront her greatest fear with the help of strangers.

The talented cast includes Samora Smallwood, Naomi Snieckus, and Prince Amponsah.

The U.S. based 7 Palms Entertainment was formed in 2016 by Colin Laviola, an Emmy-winning producer, whose clients include Netflix, HBO Max, ROKU.

Additionally, Sara was selected for Stowe Story Labs 10th Narrative Lab in 2022 and was a semi-finalist for Female Voices Rock Screenplay in 2023. And Sara is currently being developed into Hinkson’s first feature film as writer and director, with a new title, Concrete Marshmallow.
