Start of Production
Ottawa, ON – Start rolling, start howling. Canada’s king of cult, Lee Gordon Demarbre (Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter, Harry Knuckles, Smash Cut, Enter the Drag Dragon) is back behind the camera on his most unhinged, unfiltered, and gloriously gonzo feature yet: Dick Toes.
The no-budget epic, written by Mark Pollesel (Enter the Drag Dragon) just began production in Ottawa. Not only the film’s shooting location, it’s also the setting, cuz Ottawa isn’t just the nation’s capital, it’s a super cool city too. Additional scenes will be shot in Montreal, Los Angeles, and the zombie holy lands of Evans City, and Monroeville, Pennsylvania.
Dick Toes follows Private Detective Richard Toes, a man cursed with ten dicks for toes, as he uncovers a horde of lesbian vampires infiltrating the Nation’s Capital. With the resurrection of Count Dracula looming, Toes must ally with an old nemesis in a desperate, bloody, and absurd race against time.
Demarbre describes the film as “another Kung-fu, action, comedy, horror, musical,” and promises it’s in the same chaotic cinematic DNA as his underground cult classics.
“The film will let me know when it’s done,” says Demarbre, and much like Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter, we’re looking at a two year production window to make this no-budget feature film. There’s no investor, no producer involvement. It’s a pure passion project.”
Production is expected to complete sometime in 2027 or 2028, “but we’re not in a rush,” says Demarbre. “We just want to make the best film we can make, with what we have.”
